Francine Ducharme, PhD
Francine Ducharme is a Professor in the Université de Montréal Faculty of Nursing and a Researcher at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal, Centre de recherche. She completed post-doctoral studies (1994) at the Douglas Hospital Research Centre, a WHO Collaborating Centre in the field of mental health. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing (1990) from McGill University, and an M.Sc. in Nursing Science (1982), with specialization in Community Health, from the Université de Montréal (1982).

She currently holds the Desjardins Chair in Nursing Care for Older Persons and Families, and coordinates the research branch focusing on care and services for older persons and families at the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal research centre. She also holds a research fellowship from the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec. Her subsidized research program and publications focus on the development and assessment of innovative intervention with family members serving as caregivers of older persons living at home or in health care institutions.
